Iran Accuses Bahrain Of Stoking Tensions In Gulf
Iran has accused Bahrain of trying to "create a climate of tension" in the Persian Gulf by making unfounded allegations against Tehran. Sunni-ruled Bahrain announced on July 25 it had detained two men accused of trying to smuggle weapons from Shi’ite Iran. On July 26, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Marzieh Afkham, called the allegation "baseless."
