Arash Azizi was sitting in a Sarajevo cafe when he first learned from a fellow journalist that his father — Toronto-based filmmaker Mostafa Azizi — had been freed from an Iranian jail. “Apparently people in prison had heard it from the loudspeakers and the news had gotten out,” the younger Azizi said on Sunday, a day after his father was released.
