Rapturous welcome for Iran's Ahmadinejad in Lebanon
BEIRUT (AFP) – Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived to a rapturous welcome in Beirut Wednesday for a contentious visit that takes him to the border of arch-foe Israel and is seen as a boost for key ally Hezbollah. The hardline leader was greeted at the airport by parliament speaker Nabih Berri and a delegation of Hezbollah politicians, while thousands crowded the streets outside, mostly Hezbollah supporters displaying Iranian flags.
