ISC says 6.5 magnitude quake hits southeastern Iran
TEHRAN, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake of 6.5 magnitude hit Iran's southeastern city of Hosein Abad in Kerman province on Monday, the Iranian Seismological Center (ISC) said on its website. However, there were no reports of casualties as of now. The earthquake, occurring at local time 22:12 (1842 GMT) and at a depth of five km, was 28.6 degrees north latitude and 59.1 degrees east longitude, the ISC said. Iran, including its capital Tehran, sits astride several major fault-lines in the earth crust, and is prone to frequent earthquakes. ...
