Earthquake strikes town in Iran near nuclear plant
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.6 has struck a town in southern Iran near a nuclear power plant. The U.S. Geological Survey says the temblor struck Thursday afternoon some 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) northeast of Borazjan town. That town is some 48 kilometers (30 miles) north of the port city of Bushehr, home of the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
