A decade after first taking to the skies, Virgin America will cease to exist for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). As of Thursday, pilots will call out the company's callsign "Redwood" for the last time, and afterwards adopt that of their new identity "Alaska" for Alaska Airlines, It's one of the final steps in the completion of the $4 billion acquisition.
