UN says Iran has executed at least 66 this year
GENEVA – The United Nation's top human rights official says Iran has executed at least 66 people this year, based on Iranian press reports her office has reviewed. U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said Wednesday the alarming number of executions — two of them public — were mostly due to drug offenses, but at least three executions were of political prisoners.
