Strong quakes hit northwestern Iran
State media said some buildings in Tabriz were damaged/ -- Two strong earthquakes jolted northwestern Iran Saturday near the city of Tabriz, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The first one, a magnitude 6.4, hit at 3:53 p.m. local time. Just minutes later a second quake, measuring 6.3, struck. Several strong aftershocks were also recorded.
