WASHINGTON – Fifty years ago, men were launched to the moon on a Saturn V rocket. Only three of this type of rocket still exist, and none has ever been to D.C. Until now. A 363-foot Saturn V rocket projection will illuminate the east face of the Washington Monument this week, simulating the Apollo 11 rocket resting on the launchpad leading up to lift-off.
