TEHRAN – The lonely Deyr-e Gachin caravanserai located on the outskirts of Qom, central Iran, is commonly known as the mother of Iranian caravanserais. Deyr-e Gachin (meaning plaster-covered monastery) has repeatedly been restored over its history.
