Iran's Parliament Passes Bill Against Funding Terrorism
The Iranian parliament has approved a bill aimed at bringing Iran's laws in line with international standards and allowing the country to join the UN convention against the funding of terrorism, or CFT. A total of 143 lawmakers on October 7 voted in favor of the bill, 120 voted against, and five abstained, local media reported. The legislation still has to be approved by a top clerical body, the Guardians Council, before it becomes law.
