Iran election: Ahmadinejad in the lead as ballot counts continue
Washington, 12 June (WashingtonTV)--The head of the State Election HQ announced at 1:42 hours [local time; 21:12 gmt] that “from the 15,251,781 million votes” counted, Mohammad Ahmadinejad has won “ten million, 230 thousand and 478 votes, equivalent to 67.7 percent of the total count and this places him ahead of his rivals in the race.” Kamran Daneshjou did not clarify whether the votes counted thus far belonged to ballot boxes in urban or rural areas of the country but he went on to say that the counting of a total of “21,631 ballot boxes” ...
