Freed American hiker has left Iran for Oman
Freed American hiker Sarah Shourd has left for Oman after she was released by Iran, Livia Leu Agosti, Swiss ambassador to Tehran says. "I can now confirm that she is totally free and has left for Oman," said Leu Agosti. The Swiss embassy has been intensely working to secure Shourd's release, which came after more than a year in detention. The embassy manages US interests in Iran, as Washington and Tehran have had no diplomatic relations since the aftermath of the 1979 Islamic revolution.
