Blast hits Iran refinery as Ahmadi-Nejad visits
May 24 2011 10:19 | Last updated: May 24 2011 10:19/ Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad, Iranian president, escaped injury when a gas explosion at a oil refinery where he was inaugurating a project left one person dead and at least 17 injured. The blast was blamed on technical problems and Mr Ahmadi-Nejad went on to deliver a speech, broadcast live on Iranian television, to mark the expansion of the refinery in Abadan, south west Iran.
