5.6-magnitude quake hits western Iran
TEHRAN, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted Soomar city in Iran's western Kermanshah province at 10:29 a.m. local time (0659 GMT) on Thursday, Iran's Seismological Center reported. The epicenter, with a depth of 8 km, was initially determined to be at 33.778 degrees north latitude and 45.741 degrees east longitude.
