Old Persian miniatures of Shahnameh on display at Azadi Tower
- An exhibition of manuscripts and miniatures portraying Old Persian copies of Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh opened Tuesday at the Islamic Revolution Cultural Center in Tehran’s Azadi Tower. The exhibition opened on the occasion of the registration of the Shahnameh millennium on UNESCO’s 2010 calendar of events, said director of the center Abolfazl Hamrah. The exhibit contains images of the manuscripts and miniature works preserved in several museums in foreign countries. Also included are calligraphy works and typographies focusing on Shahnameh.
