Envoy voices optimism over Caspian Sea talks
TERHAN – Iran’s special envoy on the Caspian Sea affairs has voiced optimism on Thursday over the outcome of meetings between the Caspian Sea littoral states already underway in Baku, Azerbaijan. Mahdi Safari said 70 percent of the issues related to the Caspian Sea legal status have been resolved. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast also stated on Wednesday that the five Caspian Sea states have reached a consensus on over 70 percent of the sea’s legal regime.
