US Senate Urged to Pass Iran Sanctions Bill
Senator Bob Corker (R-Tennessee), the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has urged the Senate to pass a bill with would expand sanctions against Iran for ballistic missile development, support for terrorism, transfer of conventional weapons to or from Iran, and human rights violations. The bill, entitled Countering Iran’s Destabilizing Activities Act of 2017, has 60 cosponsors, enjoys bipartisan support, and is expected to pass the Senate this week.
