Over 200 squirrels rescued and returned to their habitat in Kurdistan
The head of Kurdistan’s Department of Environment said on Wednesday that police have rescued 219 squirrels from smugglers in two different operations, IRNA reported. Kurdistan is located in western Iran with Sanandaj as its capital. Abdolvahid Riazifar added that out of total 219 squirrels, 167 came to police custody on Bijar-Znajan road, and the rest were seized as the rodents were being smuggled out of the province.
