Iran defeats UAE 3-0, next stop Asian Cup quarterfinals
- Iran has defeated the United Arab Emirates 3-0 to finish first in Group D of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup with a perfect three wins. The two teams met at the Al Rayyan Stadium on Wednesday in their last group stage match. The UAE team had to beat Iran, which had already qualified, to keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout stage alive.
