On Sunday two investment and holding companies both controlled by Iranian Revolutionary Guards bid for a 50% +1 stake in Iranian Telecommunications Company, and one (Etemade Mobin) was the winner of the transaction worth $8 Billion, the largest stock market transaction in the 41-year history of Iranian stock Exchange. In recent years under the privatization plans implemented by Ahmadinejad government, financial subsidiaries of the Revolutionary Guards and the Pro-government militia have taken control of a large number of national and government-owned assets.
